Watched another episode of 'Chase' on channel 5. It was really boring and the dialogue were really stupid. Channel 5 has successfully produced another extremely disgusting series unsalvagable even with great looking leads. The reason why I decided to watch this series is Linda Liao of course... heavily-psychoed by my friends to watch her.:P The producers are really lousy man! Just looking at the way she always hug this soft toy of hers makes me so annoyed! And the famous line of rejection?
Utt:"err..ermm... Would... You... erm... like to go... to the prom... with me ?"
*Utt gives Linda a droopy dog longing look*
(Scene shows girls with Linda laughing and sniggering at the background )
*Linda gives Utt a condescending look*
Linda:"why don't you try again in ten years?"
The conversation goes something like this ok ? couldn't really remember how it actually went. Anyway, one big problem with the conversation above... the line "why don't you try again in ten years?" seems a bit strange when I first saw the series. Although the meaning of the line hints that its important and that it would probably appear again in later episodes, it seems kinda off that she actually said this... I mean who would actually say this in Singapore?!!
I would rather if she said something like this:
1) Linda:"f**k off lah! you serious or wat? dun be stupid can?"
2) Linda:"Sorry! but I am going with someone else!~ Why don't you ask me earlier? / try going with PersonA?"
anyway, according to responses from 2 of my friends in other schools who went for their prom and got the lucky chance of getting rejected. Response 1 and 2 were from them respectively, each representing extreme cases of both ends... anyway the gist is that the line is off lar... the viewers know from that point instantly that they are gonna meet in ten years time and Utt is gonna ask Linda that again.
Keegan Kang was being his usual irritating self and was always there to provided Utt with freaking stupid advice... Utt be damned if he actually heed his advice....
Whats with the hole in the wall in Utt's cubicle ? why is there even a hole in the first place and why is Moe Alkaff relegated to the role of dispensing stupid advice at the most stupid time.... he's a great comedian and the producers actually cast him in that... he better have a major role in the later part of the series or I gonna write in and complain !~ Duh!~
The other most memorable flop that channel 5 made is of course the superbly funny and stupid "VR man" featuring James Lye and Michelle Goh. I was sec 2 then... The greatest flop of all times from the history of Cadelcott Hill !~ Holographic powers?!! yeah right!~
one noteable show that channel 5 made and I really like is " The Ride Home ". Its a love story which features the male lead always fighting over a taxi with the female lead. I think it's interesting! definitely better then "chase" !~ I wish channel 5 would show reruns of the show again. *sigh*

Went for the Badge Patch Carnival 2005 at HQ. Decided to call up AVSL Nicholas to see whether if he is there. Oh yes... That fella is there.. Then came the bad news. The Badge for "Badge Patch Day 2005" is out of stock ! WTF !!! I wanted to get a few for collection and trading purpose not to mention to get one for ASL HanX... I was really disappointed man... The badge patch carnival was really the same as the other year. nothing much really that is. But managed to saw a really cute AGSL from a primary school. Whoa! I think a freshie from NIE or something, but she made the AGSL uniform look super attractive... I would have loved to serve in her unit... Oh god ! why don't we ever get assigned a cute young thing for my unit? why do we always get male teachers instead ???? Argh! left HQ and went to the coffeeshop opposite HQ to find AVSL Nich... Most of the ventures were around and i nearly consumed a plate of 'hao jian' which was meant as a trap for the SL. Whew! luckily the ventures were on nice terms with me...
Went back to HQ at 3+ just stepped into HQ went the rain came down in sheets... drats! no umbrella... Had to seek refuge in the Scout Shop... the storekeeper was on great terms with us as i had spent a lot of time humouring him earlier... we had a mini dicussions there when Dunman leaders decided to drop in on us. Had a catch-up session... luckily the rain ended soon and I was able to have my dinner at around 6 together with SL Gavin, AVSL Nich and Joshua. Had the most amusing conversation on how to recruit more ventures into the movement. Ha!

went through my scout memoribilia and saw a few scout items that brought back fond memories... went rummaging through my clothes cabinet and found my old uniform. hmm... shall wear it one fine day and frightened the leaders... hahaha!!!~ Dug out my pirated copy of "East Area - Scouts Pioneering Course Notes" and decided that its time to do some serious revision. I have been slacking for along time liao.... :)

Went back to school for Project show. Ha! went in my brown shirt and prom nite tie. Anyway, for the benefit of my viewer, the one and the only Cookie, its the brown tie... I only got two ties remember ? one brown, one purple.... thats why I always run over to Fred's cubicle to borrow his tie mah ! Ha ha...
The project show was boring to say the least... I was there for the sake of being there and of course, the refreshment! Haha... I think my project is kinda bad and we had the unlucky honours to be placed in the same room with one of the three projects selected for presentation. Incredibly sway man! Quite a lot of people came into the room which our project booth is situated. What I did drew some annoyance from my group leader as I scared off prospective customers by doing a lousy job in the presentation and ask them whether if they had any questions... It was obvious that they had a lot of questions but were kinda embarassed to ask... hahahaha !~
Project show went well as I later gave my group leader the slip and went to the refreshment area to crash with other pals.... Gary told me he went for refreshment 5 times! 5 whole freaking times man... so funny... hahaha.... While I was in the queue with Vinz for the food and Vinz helped me to scoop some curry, Felicia who happened to be in the line as well, commented that we look gay !!! WTH !!! I thought I look kinda manly with tie and everything. To think that I actually look 'gay"... damn!
Went back home after the project show as Princess WH did not have any programmes other then dinner at central. Vinz and LaoGao was worse as they were probably still deciding after I reached home... and another day went by just like that.
2nd April 2005, Saturday PART ONE
Woke up damn early just to go to school for scouts training. I swear I haven't attempted such a feat since my NUS intern days... Dad was kind enough to give me a lift to GVSS. It started raining along the way and my moods were kinda dampened as we were suppose to do pioneering today... Luckily I brought my "Mr Blue" windbreaker today... Actually i kinda anticipated it as the sky was all dark when I woke up... I reached school at 8++ to see that the ventures are already done with the moving of the necessary equipment. Not a bad thing as I can just slack around.. HAHA!
Then it started to rain real bad... consistently on and off... damn! poor climate and terrain conditions started to worry me. Our original project is to built a monkey bridge and SL wanted to build a tower indoor due to bad weather condition. There wasn't a place to actually build a three storey tower indoor and we decided to strip the monkey bridge into component and built it indoor first. The rain stopped at around 10 and we were able to move what we built so far outfield... The damage to the ground by the rain was already done as I was to find out later....
The monkey bridge was up and operational at around lunch time at which I was already craving for "chwee kuay " since morning... luckily ATL and company was around as food runner and we soon had them running to MacDonald to tarpow lauch for us. I ordered a vanilla cone which came back a ruined mess albeit still somewhat edible. A bit turn off after I ate the cone and ATL told me Christopher took a few bites out of my cone to prevent it from melting... To Christopher, if you are reading this, rest assured that your cone next time will come with teeth marks... Mine, no less!!!! You #&^%*&(*^*&$%!!!!!!!
I was in charge of the suspension rig of the structure... click here to see the rigging I did... Simple but effective, guranteed to give the feeling of walking on clouds.... hahaha ! as mentioned, the terrain was utterly soaked by the rain and one can almost wonder about the stability of the structure. Venture Su Yong had the unluck opportunity to hit the dirt and roll as the structure came down twice (with Venture SuYong on it for both times...) Pioneering in the rain has got to be the most exciting and dangerous! I nearly got impaled by an anchorage which got ripped out while Suyong was on the structure. It flew past me with just two inch allowance from the left side of my waist?!! If it connected, I would be missing a kidney liao... Immediately reinforced all anchorage with double series and drain covers courtesy of GVSS drainage system...
whew! Got to thank my unlucky stars that day as I was "volunteered" by my SL to go up the structure... I fell of the crossing half way as the swaying angle was really too big without the normal safety netting connecting the path to hand-hold. All in all, it was an exciting and fun experience !!!
